INFORMATION
Maria Lyng runs a creative design studio on a small island called Samsø in Denmark.
She is a self-taught Danish illustrator with a BA in Visual Communication and experience in working for agencies and running her own company with clients in the US, Australia and France.
For 5 years she ran her studio from Paris and her eye for aesthetics lead her to client projects ranging from branding for established international companies to packaging, illustrations and overall visual identities for small start-up businesses.
Her work has been featured both online and in print such as Gestalten’s Los Logos books.
2020 was a difficult year for everyone due to Covid-19 so Maria started doing meditative drawing classes under the name "Studiophiles" (now RO.) and offering Meditative Drawing Retreats on Samsø, so people can escape the everyday life for a weekend and learn how to use drawing as a form of meditation and stress-relief.

Her creative passion derives from a childhood of being a shy middle-child to finding a place free of judgement and a feeling of freedom, where she became a great listener and observer. Qualities she uses while working with other people and a testament to why her illustrations are a practice of realism and high technical details.
Her work has been featured both online and in print such as Gestalten’s Los Logos books.
In 2018 she moved back to her roots in Aarhus, Denmark.
